Popular Australian motorcycle company KTM will now launch its own KTM bicycle in India to gain access to the quickly expanding bicycle space in the country. It has noticed a renaissance of sorts in recent months, especially during nationwide lockdowns to restrict the spread of coronavirus.

Indian consumer bicycle brand 'Alphavector' declared on Thursday that it has partnered with KTM and will now be the exclusive distributor of its bicycles here.

The KTM cycle that will be sold by AlphaVector in India will cost between Rs30,000 to Rs10 lakh. It says that the KTM Cycles will help it further sustain its opportunities in the country after the current launch of the Meraki Cycles. There is also the idea of ​​introducing millennials and Gen-Z into an active lifestyle. Sachin Chopra, co-founder, and CEO of AlphaVector said, "Cycling has become a paradigm shift in India and it is evolving very fast. The premium segment is observing traction with people taking cycling as a lifestyle especially in metro cities."

KTM is also likely to profit from the partnership due to this growing demand for premium cycles. Johanna Urkauf, MD at KTM Bike Industries, said, "We bleed orange for 56 years. KTM Bike Industries has the highest standard of bike making and never stops searching. We are delighted to launch our Prime Bike in the Indian market by partnering with Alpha Vector."

AlphaVector now expects 75% of the order for the premium segment coming from big cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad. With its omnichannel business model, the company is ready to ensure that the KTM products planned for shoppers here can make the most of this new trend of workout and lifestyle cycling in over 350 cities across India.
