Tokyo 2020 Olympics might gets canceled due to COVID-19




According to recent data, more than 85,000 people have been infected because of Coronavirus in the world. China has about 79,000 cases. 2,924 people have died and the number is increasing daily. 

Tokyo Olympic is going to held between 24th July to 9th August. Coronavirus puts a threat to the Tokyo Olympic Games as there are 230+ Cases in Japan. 

Tokyo Olympics might gets cancel due to coronavirus outbreak, According to the event organizer. Japan is spending $12.6 Billion to arrange Olympic but National Audit boards they are spending twice.

Chiba, north of Tokyo is organizing Olympic games of Taekwondo, Surfing, Wrestling, Fencing, and four paralympic events but three Coronavirus Cases have committed on Tuesday among three gym users.
Lots of people have canceled their travel plans due to Coronavirus. People are feared to go out of the home and likely to do work at home. So, The Committee might cancel the Olympic if the virus doesn't get controlled. 

If Canceled this would be the first cancellation since 1944 when Olympics where Canceled in 1916, 1940, and 1944 because of World War. In 2016, Rio De Janeiro Olympic is also likely to be postponed because of the Zika virus.


International Olympic Committee is taking all required safety measures for not canceling the Olympics. Pound said the International Olympic Committee is gathering funds for urgent situations about 1Billion dollars.

The domestic football competition has already been called off until next month. Olympic volunteer training has also been delayed for about two months which was going to start from 22nd February.

'Dick Pound' Senior member of the International Olympic Committee told on the press that decision will be made in two to three months. If the games don't occur due to coronavirus they would be canceled rather than delay or relocating.
