Contactless delivery launched by McDonald's and Domino's

As India gear up to battle with the coronavirus outburst, restaurants are set to put forward zero contact food delivery services. The chain food services increase attempts to restrict the extent of Coronavirus and its effect on their businesses.

Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, the licensee for Domino's pizza has put forward 'Zero Contact Delivery' across all its 1,325 outlets in India.

The Zero Contact Delivery service is available in the latest version of the Domino's app, for placing the order select "Zero Contact Delivery" service option.

Mc Donald's has also introduced identical services naming it 'Contactless Delivery'.

As the Delivery boy reaches with the order, he will put the food package in front of the customer’s entrance door then the Delivery Expert will proceed back to a safe distance up to 2m and wait until you come.

Pratik Pota, chief executive officer and director, JFL (Jubilant FoodWorks Limited) said All delivery staff is company staff members who have been appointed after being examined for health.


Domino’s is making sure that all its employees are conformed with the hygiene and safety protocols respectfully all of its restaurants.

The company that runs 315 outlets in the south and west India said in a statement that "McDonald’s is upgrading its delivery network to make sure that good food is obtainable to its customers, both through its personal app and through third-party apps". 

Smita Jatia, managing director, Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd said that “they have increased the safety measures at McDonald’s and they are verifying contactless delivery to sustain consumer's trust". Also, they are ensuring safety at the restaurant's kitchen level, handrail, touch-points like self-ordering counter screen, door handles.

Customers can collect their orders without getting linked with the delivery member. Restaurants have put forward these services as a further safety measure to make sure the prevention of both the buyer and the delivery member.
